HHC Orderly Room Quonset
The Orderly Room building was actually composed of two
quonsets with one end joining at the other's center--creating a
T-shaped building.  One Quonset paralled Radio Hill while the
extended one paralleled South Queen.  This building was located
at the southwestern corner of the compound below an
unidentified row of Quonsets that also paralleled Radio Hill.  The
southern end of the building housed the arms, and the opposite
end the supply; the extended portion was the Orderly Room.

This picture of the Headquarters Company Orderly Room sector was taken
facing due north by the rear gate from the road leading to Radio Hill, which is the
hill at the top left.  Unidentified Quonsets line the left with the road just behind and
farther upward is Radio above the barbwire fence.  At the end of these Quonsets is
the NCO Club.
The T-shaped Quonset in the foreground is the Company Headquarters.  The
first door on the lower left by the pole is the armory.  The CO’s office was next to
the armory and exactly where the second Quonset joins the T-bone so that the CO’s
office opens into the Orderly Room.  The succeeding end of the Quonset was the
supply room.  The extended Quonset to the right with the door and two visible
windows was the Orderly Room.  The joining of the Quonsets was the interior entry
to the CO’s office.
The bulletin board’s double-gabled roof is barely visible above the Orderly
Room with the Mess Hall next in line.  The distant hooch is the latrine, followed by
Battalion Offices and the PX.
Note the HHC sign at the right by the jeep and three-quarter truck.

This photo of the HHC Supply Room was taken facing due west from the BLV
Boulevard.  The gabled structure on the left is bulletin board adjacent to the
Orderly Room where the Twelfth Cavalry Crest was attached prior to July 1, 1965.
Note beautification consisting of a flower garden; and the ditch at the lower left
hand corner that ran the camp's length causing yearly flooding.

The First of the Twelfth--the cactus on shield oversized crest with the lettered
ribbon--adorned the bulletin board canopy entry.  Immediately behind the viewer was
the Mess Hall.

The above photos were taken within walking proximity of one
another.

The HHC sign was located at the
northeastern corner of the Orderly
Room area and just east of the
bulletin board canopy.  Old Bill is the
mascot that represented the cavalry
soldier of the Old West.  Perhaps his
blue uniform provides a clue to the
camp's name.
